Self Cleaning Oven Locked Door Open

If no food or utensils are in the oven start a self clean cycle then hit clear off after 60 seconds.

Program your frigidaire oven to self clean. If your oven door is locked open press and hold down the light switch while you continue to work through the process of cancelling the lock on the door. If power to the oven fails during this operation the oven will remain in the locked position and disengaging the lock can be quite difficult. If that does not unlock the door run a short self clean cycle 1 2 hours.

Use the solutions below to open the oven door that may cause an oven door to not open or be locked 1 remove power to the oven unplug the oven from the power outlet or flip the circuit breaker for the oven. Wait at least 20 seconds before you cancel the self clean setting on the oven. If the oven isn t too hot the lock will immediately release allowing you to open the door. On the oven control panel press the clock or set clock button and the cancel off button at the same time and hold for 10 seconds.

Press cancel off key to start a latch reset wait 20 30 seconds and open door turn the power off at the circuit breaker or fuse box for one minute then turn the power back on. Is it locked when starting or using the oven. To unlock an oven hold down the lock button on your control panel for 2 or 3 seconds and wait for the oven to beep to indicate it s unlocked.

2 wait approximately 10 minutes and reapply power to the oven. Kitchenaid ovens with a self cleaning feature have a locking mechanism that activates when the oven reaches a certain temperature during the self cleaning cycle. Hold the oven light switch down and press the cancel off button. If this doesn t work unplug it from the electrical outlet and wait a few minutes.

If the door will not unlock at the end of the clean cycle then you may have a problem with the oven temperature sensor. However if the whirlpool oven door is locked and won t open even after a cleaning cycle it s possible the stove s control panel has malfunctioned. Again wait for at least another 20 seconds. Allow the oven to cool approximately 30 90 minutes move the latch arm to the left to unlock the door.

Most electronic control ovens will display a fault code to indicate that the sensor has failed. If you suspect that the sensor is at fault you should first remove the power to the oven for a few moments and then reconnect. If there is food in the oven let the oven cool to room temperature and try to unlatch the door. If this doesn t work open the oven door and look for the oven light switch inside the oven.

The oven door has been locked accidentally. Then plug it back in again which may reset the temperature gauge and cause it to unlock. Set the oven to self clean.
